From arrival to departure you feel like part of the 'family'. The setting and lodge are wonderful. In addition to the amazing people, food, environment, and atmosphere, the tours to the battlefields were truly incredible. How lucky to be guided by such experienced and knowledgeable storytellers. Thanks to everyone who touched our hearts during our stay. Loved everything.

The place itself is worth the trip—beautiful lodge, friendly staff, and lush gardens create a great vibe. I especially enjoyed the social side, chatting around the fireplace with other travelers while eating the tasty meals on the platform. If you’re a fan of military history, this is the spot to be; the battlefield tours were amazing, even for someone who only came reluctantly. The souvenir shop could use a bit more relevance to the area’s main focus, but I’m still hunting for items.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel, thanks to a wonderful upgrade to a superior room. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate my dietary needs, which was greatly appreciated given my recent illness. The tours were truly exceptional, but I did find it a bit awkward that we had to sit together for dinner, and the meal was served a bit later than I'm used to.

My stay at this hotel was truly unforgettable, thanks to the exceptional staff, knowledgeable guides, and stunning rooms with breathtaking views of the surrounding hills. I would highly recommend watching 'Zulu' and 'Zulu Dawn' before visiting, as they really helped to set the scene for the guides' presentations. While the dirt roads and potholes on the way there were a bit of a challenge, the experience was well worth the minor discomfort.
