“Excellent location, excellent host, and great breakfast.”
I stayed in a remote spot that’s great for nature lovers and those heading to Hadrian’s Wall, yet it’s also close enough to Hallington Mill Wedding Venue and Hexham. The room was comfortable, spotless, and the shower worked well. There were no locks or keys on the rooms, but the type of guests here makes it safe to leave things in an unlocked room. Carolyn, the host, was fantastic—she cared about my trip and was easy to talk to. Breakfast offered a solid spread of freshly cooked eggs, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, and tomato, plus unlimited toast, fruit, and cereal. Parking was plenty. The only downside was that I booked a King Size room but only received a standard double.
