“Beau cadre gâché par une gestion déplorable et prestation non conforme”
The place looks beautiful, but the arrival was a nightmare: we were checked in by the Auberge du Dom at 22:11 through Booking, and the manager, clearly intoxicated, had to pry open the stuck glass door of the room with a tool. The door then closed poorly and the outside shutter was broken. No hot water until the next day. The housekeeping was rushed: pillows without covers, sawdust in the bed, possible termite holes in the wooden paneling, broken and dirty bathrooms. None of the advertised amenities were present—no minibar, no coffee maker, no kettle. The TV was perched on a wobbly stand. After discovering all these issues one after another, we had no alternative accommodation at midnight and were forced to stay. No commercial gesture was offered the next day; they blamed Booking, which cannot intervene without their consent. It’s especially disappointing because the site is gorgeous, but the management and service attitude are far from good. They still haven’t issued the legal invoice for our stay of 243,20 € so we can proceed with our claims. Update: arrival times listed 17:30–23:00. A room not ready at 22:11 can be offered on Booking? The free second night would have been welcome if the first had gone differently. The hosts ignore Booking and redirect us to them for a refund request, proving they’re shifting blame to the platform. Booking confirmed they are responsible for issuing an invoice and have been asked multiple times. It’s a legal requirement. Booking is just a payment intermediary. They claim to have offered a commercial solution and a free night, yet we never received any commercial offer for the paid night.
