Muhsin Villa - Galle Fort

“Good choice”

The place sits right in the fort area, which is super convenient. My room was a single with a shared bathroom just outside the door, and the rooms themselves were comfy. The shared spaces were nice, and the staff communicated well. No complaints.

The villa was clean and being inside Galle Fort made it easy to walk to nearby spots and restaurants. The property is fine if you’re not driving, but we had a bad experience: after parking our car in front of the villa as the manager told us, an hour later we got a call that another vehicle had hit ours and left. If you’re coming by car, I don’t recommend this villa because they say there’s parking in front of the property, yet no one will be held responsible for any damage. At night there’s no staff on site, so if you need constant support that’s a problem; otherwise it might be fine.

“Budget friendly”

It worked well for £40 a night, right in the city centre and very quiet. The owner was lovely and called to let us know we couldn’t check in until 3 pm that day. Mosquitoes were minimal compared to other places we stayed. Nothing else to note.

The hotel is on the main street, rooms aren’t huge but they’re comfortable. We arrived just as the staff were on their lunch break, so we couldn’t check in. Luckily a kind neighbour let us relax in her living room and turned on a fan for us.

“Loved it”

The location was perfect and the staff were really friendly. The only minor issue was that the shower head fell off the wall.
