I was impressed by how quickly the staff responded, but the place was infested with bugs, the tatami had mites and the child‑proofing didn’t work. It was hot and the fan was broken. Sorry for the complaints, but I hope the new owner can improve.

The inn looked like a retro house from My Neighbor Totoro, which was lovely. However, the shoji screens and doors creaked loudly when opened or closed, drafty cold air seeped in, a gecko was in the room, and there was no towel‑toothbrush set.

The house, once used by children, was restored as a traditional farmhouse. The surrounding land is spacious, with oak trees and the chirping of morning birds. The pillar in my room had a nostalgic scar from a height measurement. It’s close to Kodomo‑kuni Station and surrounded by many hot‑spring facilities, and the sea is beautiful. The bedding lacked sheets, so I had to lay a blanket that was probably used by the previous guest directly on the mattress. It wasn’t dirty, but I wish there were two large sheets available together (there might have been but I couldn’t find them). The owner isn’t at fault, but the dishes were not very clean (an issue from the previous guest).

The house had a very Japanese feel, and the garden had its own cherry‑blossom tree. The host changed my reservation to someone else, refunded me, but it still left me a bit annoyed.
