The place was very clean and the owner communicated excellently, so I’d recommend it. However, my family from Newfoundland knew that smaller communities close stores and restaurants on Mondays and Tuesdays, so the local restaurant was disappointing and we had to drive to Carbonear for dinner, which was a bit of a let‑down after a simple walk for supper.

The motel unit was great—clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant, however, was extremely busy. When we arrived, parking was hard to find and we had to wait in line to check in, because we had to pay for our restaurant bills, take out food, and pick it up. We got our key and asked about supper, but they said they weren’t taking reservations and told us to come back after 7 pm. It was 4:30 pm, so we drove around the community and another nearby one but found no other restaurant or convenience store. After 7 pm the restaurant was still busy, so we tried to order take‑out chicken but they were out. We then ordered fish, and when it was ready we took it to our unit. The fish and chips and soup were absolutely delicious. It’s hard to explain how the restaurant could be so busy and still produce such good food, but the wait was worth it. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout. This place is definitely worth recommending to anyone heading to Heart's Content. The establishment would benefit from a larger space so more people can enjoy their expertise and great food. Great job, Legge's!
