“Orrendo”

I booked a place for three, yet only two sets of towels were supplied and no hair dryer was available. Between the top and bottom sheets we found hair and intimate body hair, and the baby crib only had the bottom sheet. The bathroom was awful; even after flushing, the natural waste kept resurfacing. I told the manager about all of this once I left the room, but the owner never showed up, and I mentioned I’d leave a review on Booking. I attached a photo because the staff called me a liar.

The location was great, but the advertised jacuzzi didn’t work and the Wi‑Fi code never arrived despite my messages—disappointing, especially since the room and surroundings were quite unique for a very reasonable price.

I didn’t realize that Booking would approve stays in caves at Gallipoli. Why does it list damp rooms without windows? I had to stoop to enter the room. There was no mobile signal or Wi‑Fi. I called customer service twice and was told to “move on” and that the issue would be addressed later. The second time they hung up. I gave my phone number to the unreachable owner, but got no reply. This type of lodging is illegal, has no windows, is damp, and mosquitoes were everywhere.

The spot was nice, and the fact that the accommodation was in the historic center, just steps from New Gallipoli and the beach, was a plus. The staff were polite and helpful. The downside was that breakfast was rather poor and subpar.
