“Great location, lovely staff”

The hotel sits in a great spot, within walking distance of many attractions in La Paz, and the staff were a real highlight, always kind, attentive, and helpful when we had car trouble, letting us use their phone and offering assistance. On the downside, some noises travel through the building, but it never bothered us and we still had very good nights of sleep.

The hotel is located on the edge of the bay, the rooms are fairly spacious and the bedding is good quality. Breakfast isn’t included, but the restaurant on the top floor offers a wide à‑la‑cart menu for a hearty breakfast. The staff are welcoming and helpful. Malecon Beach is strongly discouraged for swimming, which is a shame, but there are other beautiful beaches not far away. The check‑in cannot be done before 15:00, and the receptionist Iris (sorry to name her, but she clearly ruined my stay with her haughty and threatening air, given our difficulty retrieving our rooms after my mistake). All guests wait in the reception hall and at 15:02 she finally arrives and starts distributing keys. As if by magic the rooms were all ready and available at once. The check‑in isn’t even ready, because she issues passes one by one with each client, something I’ve never seen. Fortunately the rest of the staff—receptionists, restaurant, housekeeping, valets, etc.—are quite pleasant and helpful.

The location, the restaurant and its panoramic view, plus the tasty food and excellent service, were all great. The only downside might be the external noise that seeps in through the windows, but the thick double glass reduces this problem.
