Praiwann is a great spot with bamboo raft houses, unlike the new modular ones around the lake; it’s beautiful, all bamboo, quiet, and relaxing. The room and bathroom were comfortable and had everything needed. Activities were well organized, though we missed the morning boat safari due to weather. The food was good, simple but tasty. The wooden path to the raft houses wasn’t well kept and some boards were dangerously loose.

The location is truly fantastic, and it’s cool to see wild elephants in the jungle. Kayaking alone was fun, even though the weather was bad. Our guide knew a lot and really tried to make the experience enjoyable—props for that. Authentic Thai food was surprisingly delicious. The accommodation itself, the hut, was a bit disappointing: it’s open (no glass in the windows, gaps and cracks in the floor), so insects could easily get in. Surprisingly there were no mosquitoes, but there were cockroaches, several of them, which made sleeping less than ideal.

The location is excellent, close to the coral cave, and the place is so impressive that you don’t need much; it’s a simple cottage with no bathroom inside or AC, but there weren’t many mosquitoes or excessive heat. The scenery is totally worth it, and the walk to get there is great for those who like uncommon nature stays. Overall, it felt a bit neglected, like the lamp in the room was broken (the shade), details that don’t ruin the experience but could be fixed or replaced easily.

The setting feels like pure magic, tucked away in untouched nature where you can actually swim straight into the lake for a genuine experience, and there are kayaks you can borrow for a paddle. The food is superb, very traditional and all‑you‑can‑eat, with extra snacks and drinks available on‑site if you need them. Restrooms are shared but turnover is quick, and they provide microfiber towels; the bedding is excellent. Activities are well organized so boredom isn’t an option, and we’d suggest staying two nights to really enjoy an afternoon on the lake. We loved everything, but keep a few things in mind: there’s no daytime electricity or air‑conditioning (though you won’t miss it), watch the humidity for your belongings and the room is small, so pack a separate bag with your essentials, and bring sneakers.
