We truly enjoyed the hotel; it felt like a return to our childhood, which I missed. The accommodation fees should have been disclosed before booking, not just on the day of checkout.

The environment was quiet and peaceful, and the room was spacious and comfortable. It is a bit far from the main road, so carrying luggage from the street to the hotel entrance is inconvenient at night or during rain.

A whimsical hotel on Kyoto’s northern outskirts, everything feels thoughtfully designed and beautiful; the room is cozy and the staff are very friendly. We were impressed by the complimentary lounge drinks and minibar. It’s a short walk from the cable car that takes you above Kyoto to see temples and forests. The Japanese breakfast with a garden view is great! It is a bit farther from the metro station, so with luggage you’ll need a taxi, and dinner options outside the hotel are limited and fairly pricey.
