We adored our pool‑side room, and the beachfront location was a huge bonus; all the staff were amazing, helpful, friendly, and the food was good – we really enjoyed our stay.

The only redeeming feature of this place was the gorgeous private beach and the friendly bar staff; everything else was a nightmare. We booked the duplex villa with a private pool and a Jacuzzi tub, yet it was filthy, rundown, and leaking everywhere. Dust clogged the vents, triggering severe allergies for my husband. The towels were disgusting and dirty, and hair—black, not my blond hair—covered the rooms; even after the staff cleaned the next day, hair still clung to the bathrooms. A child's handprint on the bathroom glass door made the experience even more disgusting for our honeymoon. After a month of trying to resolve these issues, the hotel finally closed our room for renovations and repairs, but no one has helped us reach a resolution.

Far from the hustle of the city, the ocean view and private pool were definite pluses. All facilities and amenities were easily accessible through the Bandara apps. Muslim guests appreciated that the Sumpao restaurant labeled their buffet items as halal or non‑halal. Sumpao also updated its menu from time to time, especially the cooked dishes, and if you choose the à la carte option, the price is already included in your stay package. The indoor Jacuzzi probably needs a cleaning and flushing because mold appeared after the pump started. The property could offer more on‑land activities for guests who prefer staying on site, such as Pickleball or Padel.
