“Not the best stay”
The room matched the photos exactly, with luxurious furniture, a bathroom, and bedding. The location was good, right in the old town amid cobblestone streets. Upon arrival, we discovered the fridge was broken (plugging it in produced a strange clicking noise and it never cooled after at least half an hour). We spoke to the reception guy, who “allowed” us to use a staff fridge in a communal garden area, but that fridge was locked from 6 pm and we had to walk around the block to a door on a different street—unideal when we had breakfast items and drinks that we wanted in the room. There was also an air‑conditioning unit placed on the floor, which seemed not to work properly; even though the room stayed cool, the floor was constantly wet and everything felt damp. We unpacked our suitcases at the next hotel after staying here and all our clothes felt damp; I don’t think the unit was venting outside correctly. We would have reported this at check‑out, but there was no one at the desk when we left and another staff member was busy elsewhere and ignored us. Since we had already paid online, we just decided to leave! Also a warning to anyone prone to insect bites… I managed a whole week in northern Slovenia without being bitten, applying jungle formula each evening, but I suffered three bites while sitting on the balcony in the morning here, thinking mosquitoes wouldn’t be around—I was wrong!!
