“Adorable hotel with great location. A bit overpriced for what you are getting and not as advertised.”

I appreciated the dog accommodations, friendly staff, and cute rooms, and the location was ideal with many dog‑friendly restaurants within walking distance. However, I had to ask for the dog welcome package for one of our rooms. Parking was insufficient; employees used the spots when guests couldn't find a place, and the hotel advertised champagne at check‑in and with breakfast, but neither had champagne or mimosas, and there were no eggs at breakfast.

The hotel is very pretty, the room was arranged with great care, and the breakfast was very good. The location is magnificent; the only difficulty was that there were more rooms than parking spaces, which was a bit hard to manage, but we eventually solved it. I had to wait to secure parking and never wanted to move it for fear of losing my spot.

The decor is cute and the cosmetics are nice, but the staff aren’t friendly and everything feels overpriced. We paid $1000 a night per room, and the bathroom door wouldn’t close properly. They claim to give you cookies and count the rooms per person. We had a 11 a.m. checkout, yet they started tidying our room at 10:30 a.m. even after we asked not to be disturbed. They charged us $13 for a bottle of water! There’s no wardrobe to store clothes at that price;!!

“Could have been magical but missed the service beat”

The rooms were just delightful and the backdrop stunning, but the staff were very disinterested and offered no real service at all. The champagne breakfast wasn’t truly “offered,” and at several moments in reception there was no service at all. It was all self‑serve, which really let the whole experience down.

We absolutely loved the complimentary breakfast with champagne mimosas, the parking was great, and the location amazing. Everyone we met working there was very nice! The price was high during Monterey car week, but it fell on our anniversary so it’s not their fault.
