We were really let down because we didn't get the room we booked. We specifically chose a pricier room for the sea view, which was the main reason we chose this place. On arrival, we were told our room was no longer available and offered an “upgrade” to a larger suite. In reality, it was a separate apartment with its own entrance off a noisy, dim side street next to a restaurant. The area felt unsafe, and the apartment felt more like a basement flat than a proper hotel room. A staff member showed us in and left. An alarm started blaring almost immediately, and we had to return to reception to ask it to stop, but it kept going. We made it clear we didn’t want that apartment and asked for a standard hotel room and compensation. We eventually got a standard room without a sea view, but getting compensation required several back‑and‑forth messages. The hotel tried to justify the offer by saying the apartment was larger and had a kitchen, but we had booked a hotel room with a sea view, not an apartment with a kitchen. The sea view was the main reason we chose this hotel, so it was very disappointing not to receive what we paid extra for. Reaching an agreement on compensation took multiple exchanges, and the final amount didn’t feel adequate given the inconvenience and letdown. Overall, a very disappointing experience.
