The room had a romantic 1900s style, was nice and spacious, and the breakfast area felt like a small museum. A friendly person took care of us, and the rural idyll offered quiet and a beautiful garden courtyard.

The estate—an old farmhouse—was lovingly furnished with French country‑house charm. The beds were good, and each room differed; I had an entire apartment for myself and my dachshund. The rural charm is close to the city, a true oasis of calm. A simple breakfast was included. The property is about 14 km from Troyes, so driving there makes sense. One evening I was alone on the farm, the owner and his helper were absent, and the place felt a bit remote, so I didn’t feel entirely secure.

A great stopover on the way to Italy, with lovely countryside and a farm vibe yet close enough to shops and restaurants. The hosts were very accommodating, even with our very early departure back to Calais. Nothing negative.
