Check‑out was scheduled for 10 am, but even though a few guests were still sleeping, staff started changing the sheets and cleaning after 9 am, making it feel like they were urging us out, which was very unpleasant. I usually leave early, but today I had planned to stay until the very last minute, so it was a real disappointment.

My first time in a capsule hotel turned out to be surprisingly clean and very easy to settle in, especially since it’s on the second floor of Otsu Station, which made getting there a breeze and left me feeling satisfied with the value for money. The only hiccup was that the light in my pod never turned on, but I fell asleep right away so it didn’t bother me at all.
