The place is nice and the cats around are a highlight, and the price is fair. The room feels cramped and dim, the bunk bed feels unstable, and the bathrooms weren’t clean enough.

Everyone is friendly and it feels like a little community. The only downside is that the bathrooms are outside the room, which takes a bit of getting used to.

The experience was amazing, the free tours were great, and the people you meet are so nice—truly a very unique place. The vibe the hostel offers is so beautiful, it’s the best hostel experience.

Free parking close to the hostel was available most of the time, and quiet hours were enforced. The big garden offers plenty of space to sit, and there’s a large fridge outside in the garden. The bathrooms were only cleaned once a day, early in the morning, and not at all after that; with so many people staying here, that’s simply not enough. By the evening, when you want to shower, the bathrooms are full of sand and hair, making the whole experience extremely unpleasant and unhygienic. The bedrooms were not cleaned at all during my stay, not even once. The beds are very old and the mattresses feel extremely uncomfortable. Cats run around everywhere, which is cute, but when they crawl all over the dining tables it becomes a hygiene concern. The kitchen is generally very dirty and unhygienic; you honestly don’t want to eat from the plates or use the cutlery. The staff seem to mainly socialize among themselves, and as a guest you get the feeling they’re annoyed if you have questions or need something. There are no window screens, so it’s not possible to open the window at all. The daughter of the owner talks badly about employees in front of guests and other staff—very unprofessional. In general, the quality is very low for the price and location (US/Hawaii) compared to other countries/continents (Africa, Asia).
