“Wunderschönes Anwesen, enttäuschende Gastfreundschaft”
The estate, the garden and the pool are beautiful. The self‑cooking kitchen is great and the lounge area is excellent. We were very disappointed with the host’s communication and coordination. It started with a long, very rocky gravel road that we were not told about beforehand; that road is suitable for 4‑wheelers but a big challenge for regular cars. When we arrived, no one was there to check us in, and we didn’t know where on the Borgho we should go because the signage was very poor. We had always arranged check‑in times in advance with other accommodations and heard nothing from the host. When we called, the host sent us an SMS saying she had no time. Then we happened to meet a staff member in the dining area, at which point the host, irritated, came out of the kitchen. She half‑heartedly checked us in and said she was cooking for other guests. For us, there would have been no capacity for dinner because it must be booked in advance. The fact that you can eat on the remote Borgho is nowhere mentioned. There were also no tips or information about the region or local restaurants. The room’s cleanliness was also somewhat disappointing; a dead beetle was stuck to the window and there were stains on the headboard and walls. Additionally, it was cold in the rooms and the radiators could not be turned on.
