The spot is fantastic in Gion’s heart, just minutes from Sanenzaka and Ninenzaka, and a two‑minute walk to the main street for buses. The room is cute, with a tatami section, a small table, and pillows. It had a mini‑fridge, though a microwave would have been handy. The shower/bathroom had a slight musty smell, partly due to the design—no curtain, so water could splash everywhere if you weren’t careful. It was raining in Kyoto, so the air was humid and the room didn’t dry quickly after a shower. A very wide ledge beside the window, next to the tub, collected water; a slight angle to direct it into the tub would have helped. Aside from that, the room was great.
