It looked clean and the bathroom seemed relatively new, but there were already defects. A local tourist tax was charged on site that wasn't listed on Booking, the smoke detector in the room was broken or removed, and the furnishings appeared worn out in many places (very unattractive desk, holes in the walls, peeling paint on the doors, a broken, wobbly door handle, a gap in the sink). When I raised these issues, the receptionist said many people steal smoke detectors and didn’t address the extra costs or other problems; he just said I should tell the manager. We stayed there for one night because we were only there to sleep; for a longer stay we would have demanded a refund and would have preferred sleeping in our car if we couldn’t find anything else.

Insects everywhere, all three beds had stains, the beds were like junk, the shower head was glued with duct tape, the holder was broken, there was no smoking allowed. A tent outside would have been much better than this setup. Everything was terrible.

We arrived at the last minute for check‑in while traveling to the Netherlands. The room was nice, clean, with a good bathroom. We slept well and then continued our trip the next morning 👍
