The hotel is gorgeous and the location is superb, very clean and luxurious, and the staff were attentive and helpful.

An old, nice hotel from the colonial era, just over the Temple. Very expensive. The staff were not particularly welcoming.

Excellent location—nothing better. Right across from the Tooth Temple, right by the lake! Huge room and a super friendly reception. The food was excellent and the pool was great in the hot Kandy! The downside is that the rooms are extremely noisy from the street, and we heard a stage rattling under our window until 5 am during the week of Poya. I didn’t mind because I always bring earplugs, but it’s worth knowing. Even worse was that it turned out to be a 3‑bedroom room and I had called beforehand to ask if we could add a roll‑away bed (the room could have fit two more beds). They said it was no problem and would cost $15, but when we arrived tired from the long trip they told us we had only booked three people. In the end it wasn’t a problem, but we didn’t get a roll‑away bed (we didn’t ask again because it was enough for us). Generally in Sri Lanka it’s common for discussed items not to be written down, and many direct bookings were overbooked. It seems to be a general organizational issue, so maybe double‑check a bit earlier just in case.

“Bella esperienza”

I liked the location, the historic building, the atmosphere and the furnishings, but some areas were poorly maintained—there were exposed waste toilets in the bar area—and a large rat was spotted in the breakfast zone.

We had an exceptional stay at Queens Hotel Kandy from start to finish. The location is fantastic, with everything within easy walking distance, making it ideal for exploring Kandy. The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming, and professional, and the guest relations team went above and beyond to make us feel well looked after. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and overall service was outstanding. The hotel’s beautiful decorations and atmosphere added a special touch to our experience. We were very impressed with the professional service and warm hospitality. I would highly recommend Queens Hotel Kandy to anyone visiting Kandy. It was a wonderful experience, and we would be delighted to stay again!
