“Goed maar al betere verblijven gehad.”

There was enough parking and a quiet room on the ground floor by the garden side, but privacy was lacking: the shower area wasn’t closed off and the toilet was in the middle of the room. We had to wait a very long time for our fried egg at breakfast, and by the time it arrived all our bread had already been taken.

The location is spot‑on, but the welcome was just a code lock – no staff at the desk. The room feels dated, with no space for luggage or a toiletry bag, missing tiles under the sink, lime buildup in the shower and toilet, and a dirty vent above the loo. The two apples left on arrival weren’t fresh, and breakfast was a let‑down: cold coffee, dry fried egg, soggy sandwiches, hard‑to‑cut knives and no fruit on display.

“Wij hebben enorm genoten!!!!”

Everything was provided and the people were genuinely friendly, which made us feel comfortable even though we didn’t know what to expect. We spent three nights in the “Chocolate” room and, aside from a sagging, low sofa that was useless for our tall frames, everything else was fine. It’s a small flaw compared to the overall good experience, and we let the owner know about the couch.

We were greeted warmly and settled into a snug room with a little private terrace. At 4 p.m. the lounge offered pastries, fruit and drinks, and later we took a dip in the swimming pond. Breakfast was outstanding – the most elaborate culinary spread I’ve seen at any hotel.
