“Very disappointing stay!”
We were really let down by this visit. The pictures on the site promised a nicer experience, but reality was different. Before arriving we had talked to the owner about our arrival time, but when we called her near Ubud and couldn’t locate the place, she didn’t answer—three missed calls. Two very young guys who spoke almost no English greeted us; they also handled cleaning and seemed to control everything. The “villa” turned out to be a shabby old wooden cabin, far from the photos—run‑down, poorly maintained, and not clean. The nice bath shown in a photo was actually a dirty old tub I wouldn’t even let my dog in. Floors and mirrors were dirty on arrival. Wi‑Fi was weak, and we had a power outage on the second day.
The location was far from town, which we knew, but the bathroom was large yet the shower was odd—no curtain, so we showered in the middle of the room. The room itself was big but not cleaned properly; we asked twice. On the first day, only trash was taken out and two new towels were given. On the second day, the trash was removed and the two damp towels we left on the floor were taken, folded, and left on the toilet seat for us to reuse. The kitchen was run‑down and smelled of rotten food; the sink was awful. The closet was tiny for two people, the safe didn’t work, and there was no dining table or chairs. The only positives were a quiet night and a comfortable bed. After reporting the towel mishap, the owner passed by, revealing that her young son and another young man run the place, which explains the poor management. Very disappointing; we won’t return.
