Having Don Quijote nearby and a bike‑rental station right next door was really convenient, but when I tried to charge my phone at night there was no outlet near the bed and the cord I brought was too short, which was annoying; a quick word at check‑in and a spare extension cord would have solved it, but I was already in pajamas and didn’t want to go back to the front desk.

The hotel felt modern and comfortable with a well‑equipped bathroom. The problem was that the two hotels of the same brand name were indistinguishable for foreigners who don’t know the city and don’t speak Japanese.

The reception staff were outstanding, always bowing and greeting us whenever we entered or left, and the view from the 10th‑floor windows was spectacular; I also appreciated that they offered both hot and cold hand towels. However, the air‑conditioner blew directly onto my face while I was in bed, which was uncomfortable, and the TV kept resetting to the hotel guide every time I left the room, which was inconvenient.

The value for money is great and there’s a Don Quijote right in front of the hotel, which is handy, though it’s situated a fair distance from the train station.
