“Lovely two night safari tent adventure with the kids”
I brought my two kids and we stayed in one of the safari tents. We chose this spot because it was easily reachable by public transport. We took the X10A bus and it drops you off right at the entrance. The beds were heated, which was lush and wonderful for cold autumn nights. My ten‑year‑old loved curling up and reading her book in bed, and we didn’t want to leave our beds in the mornings. The campground owner was incredibly friendly and accommodating, remembered my name, and made us feel very welcome. The safari tent had everything you could want for camping; you only need to bring clothes, toiletries, and some food. Bedding, towels, stove, kettle, small fridge, lights, dishes, cutlery, and washing supplies were all provided. We had our own fire ring, a bag of wood, and fire starters—just enough for our two‑night stay so the kids could roast marshmallows. Separate toilets, showers, and dish‑washing stations were all very clean. The food truck on Friday morning served delicious coffee and breakfast rolls, and the staff there were lovely. We even met Lacey the camp cat. During our stay, we took the bus to nearby Aberfoyle, but you can also walk there from the campsite. Some of the spots are close to each other at the campground; in our case, we were looking directly into a camper van that was near our porch. However, they were quiet and not a bother. The price of the safari tent is higher than normal camping, but it seems fair for the glamping experience, and with a discount it fit more comfortably into our budget for this trip.
