The newly built gîte was gorgeous and meticulously equipped, offering two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a terrace, an outdoor dining table and a very quiet setting; the owners were extremely kind, helpful and attentive, the place felt unique, secluded in nature with a big parking lot and beach access on the Tarn, close to Brousse le Château and Coupiac, although there was no TV and the location felt a bit isolated despite its calm.

The property in a stunning setting is still a work in progress with great potential. The hosts, a friendly young Belgian couple, are restoring the old buildings with love and good taste, piece by piece. Those who expect perfection should wait a few more years. The homemade food made from local ingredients doesn’t need to be compared to pricey restaurants, especially for vegetarians. In the nearby Dourdou stream, you can lie on the beach and swim in summer. The total cost for a night with dinner and breakfast falls in the upper 4‑star range, so it’s still not entirely reasonable.

I had an amazing time chatting with Febe and Joeri, and they gave us some great tips for things to see and do in the area. The rooms are really authentically decorated and have so much character, and the food. oh my goodness, Febe and Joeri are just incredible cooks. The whole place just feels really peaceful and special, and we loved the beautiful surroundings. Thanks, Febe and Joeri, for a unique and fantastic stay at Rêve!
