I appreciated the friendly host, a former art teacher, who spoke good English and was very helpful. Checking the reviews beforehand confirmed that the place was genuinely nice. The property offers a direct view of Hikone Castle—though a little distant—and is located in a very peaceful neighborhood. Nothing else stood out as problematic.

The host was very interesting and welcoming. The décor was great, especially the kitchen area where you could sit and enjoy the lovely view of the neighborhood. The room felt like a small mountain chalet—cozy and comfortable. The price‑to‑quality ratio was very reasonable compared to other accommodations around Biwako. The only downside was a missing small light for the bed, though I might have missed it.
