It was wonderful, especially the lady of the house who was very knowledgeable and helpful during my stay. If I’d been able to stay longer, my stay would have been too short.

We had a great one‑night stay: the twin‑bed room was very comfortable and clean, the en‑suite matched that quality, and the location near Ullswater was convenient; after arriving early we visited the NT Aira Force waterfalls for a pleasant walk after a long journey. We booked dinner at the Queen’s Head, a few steps from the B and, an impressive 1711‑era pub full of character, and were seated by the log fire which enhanced the ambiance. The food was excellent, but the highlight was Robin and his wife’s friendliness—something I always look for in a B&B. Thanks for the helpful tips, and the breakfast was lovely, especially the fresh fruit salad and the wide range of cooked options.

The location was perfect for a wedding at Askham Hall, Robin and Marion were absolutely lovely, breakfast was delicious with a fantastic selection, and the price—£100 cheaper than staying in Penrith—was well worth it.
