The room was large and the restaurant on the fourth floor offered a nice view, yet check‑in only started at 15:00, and because of an infrequent bus I arrived at 11:30. The hotel sits in an industrial area far from the sea and the high old town of Porto Vecchio. Reception promised to call if the room was ready early, but no one called. I returned at 15:30 in nearly 40 °C heat, drenched, with no explanation for the silence. My room was on the ground floor, right by reception and the lift, which turned out to be inconvenient; I saw almost no guests in the next 24 hours. The outdoor area was fenced off by shrubs from the parking lot, and in the early morning there was shouting, engines and men relieving themselves in the bushes in front of the room. Inside, a large wardrobe was locked with a “privé” sign, leaving only a single rod with three hangers in the hallway. No bottled water was provided. The small pool on the fourth floor was hot. There were no bathrobes, the safe was locked and wouldn’t open, and there was no instruction. No city map was available at reception. The price for two nights with breakfast was €389, and I left after one night.
