The spot is fantastic, with gorgeous mountain, glacier, and horse views; we loved unwinding in the outdoor hot tub after long hikes. The living room and kitchen were well arranged, and the espresso machine was a big plus. Having laundry facilities was a huge help. We didn’t expect the other queen bed to be tucked in the loft, and none of us were comfortable with the ladder, so the second couple chose the full/twin bunk instead. If the upper bunk could be moved higher, it would prevent those head bumps.

It’s genuinely local, tucked in the middle of nature and the “bloody good” nowhere, yet still close to all the Southern attractions. Loved it!

The spot was perfect for exploring Skogafoss and the Vik area. The beds were comfy and the kitchen fully equipped, plus the coffee machine was great. The Wi‑Fi only supports a few devices, which is a problem when you’re five people. The hot tub is old, smells funky, and isn’t very appealing. Shower water pressure was very low.

A peaceful farm setting, not far from the main road, with an unusual layout. You walk through an unheated sunroom/foyer, then the left door leads to the living areas and one bathroom, while the right door opens to the bedrooms and a smaller bathroom – so the foyer gets walked through a lot. The living/dining area is cozy and offers great views from the large dining room windows. We used the excellent washer and dryer, and there’s a big clothes rack for drying. They advertised three bedrooms, but one double was in the attic above the main bedroom and only reachable via a steep ladder. My 19‑year‑old was fine with that bed but had to leave her suitcase in our room, so technically only two bedrooms were accessible. The other room had a tri‑bunk, so it could sleep three. Keep the gate closed or the horses will wander into the yard! The host was hard to communicate with; little info was sent before arrival, and I had to follow up for the door code after the 4 pm check‑in.
