The staff were friendly and the building and grounds looked impressive. Breakfast was good too, but dinner fell short – the food felt very pub‑like and the service was slow. The hotel is used for weddings and events, yet it seemed ill‑prepared for the number of guests at dinner and breakfast.

We spent one night there for a wedding and found the hotel stunning and well maintained. The grounds were lovely to wander, featuring some magnificent ancient trees. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and comfortable, with a lovely bathroom. The food was absolutely delicious, so we’d gladly return. However, the room stayed quite hot and there was no effective cooling. The spa the next day was also disappointing: not enough loungers, so I sat outside on a single one without a cushion. When I asked for a cushion, I was told it wouldn’t be brought out, yet later other guests received cushions. That inconsistency left me feeling poorly treated, so while I’d come back, I’d hesitate to use the spa again.
