The bed was comfy and the breakfast tasted good, especially with the water view. The houseboat tilted because of the water level, so water pooled in one bathroom corner. Even though the windows had insect screens, insects swarmed the room after just one night, but the staff kindly removed them and told me not to open the window. The houseboat isn’t near a road that taxis can access, so getting there by taxi is pretty tough.

The room looked out over the water, and because the water level was low the whole hotel leans to one side, giving a unique extra dimension. It’s a nice and quiet spot. The recurring issue was trouble getting a taxi, which is essential given the location, and the reception was quite inadequate in this regard.

Breakfast was tasty and the river view was very pleasant. I’ve been here a few times, but I missed the entrance twice because there’s no sign on the path for the Joy 5 hotel; another confused traveler asked me where it was. The two beds made it somewhat uncomfortable, as I fell in between them.
