“Superb host”
I can’t believe I snagged free breakfast at that rate – the host was the best I’ve met on my Vietnam trip, having stayed at 10 different spots. She arranged a day trek, the Fansipan cable‑car ride, and the bus ticket right through her homestay. She even offered tips to cut Fansipan costs, which cut her commission, and she dropped me off at the cable‑car station. She packed an apple and two water bottles for the trek (even though lunch was part of the package) and took me to the trek operator’s office. She drove all the way to the bus station at 6 am to get me on board, and offered to prep breakfast at 5:30 am, which I declined.
