The family running the hostel is fantastic, handling everything and offering help whenever needed. They’re very attentive, dropping fruit or water in between. Bikes, motorbikes, and a shuttle bus to a nearby bus stop can be rented. The hostel is small, with few guests, so it feels private and quiet. A highlight was the group cooking session. The mattress might be a bit firm for some, but it was fine for me. A trash bin in the room would be handy. The air‑conditioner turned off by itself at night and wouldn’t restart, probably because of a timer.

The best place and best people!!!!The best breakfast too!!! And location is much beautiful, mountains all around!!!! Bed is clean and have air-conditioning,have bicycles for rent! Thanks so much !!! 👍😊

The staff are very friendly. The sheets were dirty, the bed was uncomfortable, and the bathroom was unclean—needs better upkeep.

I spent two nights at this hostel and it was fantastic. The food, especially the vegetarian pho, was the best I’ve had in Vietnam, and guests get a 10 % discount at the restaurant, which was a nice perk. The property features a large garden where I saw cute puppies, and one of the best moments was eating under a rock formation that felt like an open‑air cave, giving the place a unique vibe. The carrot juice was outstanding, and bikes were cheap, so exploring the beautiful surrounding area was easy. Staying in Tràng An instead of the busier Tam Cốc or Ninh Bình let me soak up the peaceful riverside atmosphere and the impressive limestone karst formations that make the region special. The staff were incredibly kind and even prepared breakfast for me after the official time because I’d joined a three‑hour boat trip in the Tràng An Scenic Landscape Complex. I highly recommend this place.

“We had a wonderful stay”

The owners accepted us at 2am and we were very relieved to not have to spend the night in the streets. Our bus from Sapa arrived at Tam Coc at 1am and Sun Mountain Hostel was the only accommodation that was open at 1 in the morning. They were very friendly and helpful. We shared the room with 10 other people but it was quiet as majority were sleeping already. The beds were clean. Toilet and bathrooms were also clean and they also have hot shower. We even had free breakfast which was good. I highly recommend this hostel for those travelling on a budget or for those who do not have a place to sleep in the middle of the night at Tam Coc/Tran an
