“Hidden gem close to Ubud”
Sunrise House (though the balcony actually faces sunset 😉) is definitely a hidden gem. The room is a full apartment with a fairly well‑equipped kitchen and a big fridge. The bed is comfortable, the balcony view is great, and the owners are friendly and helpful. It sits in a more rural area south of Ubud; a motorbike ride to the city center takes about 10 to 15 minutes, and traffic in the area is fairly calm. The AC isn’t very strong, and because the whole apartment is large and the balcony door lacks proper insulation (there’s a noticeable gap letting air in) and it faces the sun most of the day, it helps to keep the curtains closed to aid the AC.
