Gales Of Llangollen is situated on one of Llangollen's oldest streets, close to the high street. The hotel features individual en-suite bedrooms, sympathetically restored in two historic buildings: a Georgian town house above a wine bar and an older timber-framed building. The on-site wine bar serves fresh, home-cooked food and an extensive wine list.

This was my second stay at Gales; the first visit was excellent with friendly staff and great breakfast, but this time the staff were not as friendly. Breakfast wasn’t available, the bar was closed without notice, and they refused to serve residents after 11pm, even though staff and locals were partying into the night with loud music. The bed was very uncomfortable and creaky. I’m sad to say I will not return to this venue again.

The welcome was lovely, the staff were friendly, the bed was clean and comfy, and the food was good.

The location was great, the on-site coffee shop was excellent for breakfast, and the wine bar was great in the evening; all the staff were lovely and check‑in and check‑out were easy. However, the rooms were a bit dated, the shower head was broken but usable, and there was a slight musty smell.

The Staff were so friendly welcoming and very helpful. We felt at home straight away. Very comfortable and slept very well. Would definitely recommend to others. And a lovely location 😊
