“Top, wirklich zu empfehlen”
The room was larger and more modern than expected, the beds were comfortable, and the value for money was absolutely great. Unfortunately, the hallway noises were very loud, and we woke up several times at night; the hotel could not do anything about it, and other guests were far from quiet.

Nice size, clean, nice bathroom. No one was at reception to greet us, so we had to call to be let in.
The location was great, the interior was fine. The cleaning staff needs closer supervision of their work. It would be worth adding bedside lamps.

The hotel had just been taken over by private owners and was always very friendly and helpful. My suitcase was even carried up for me. The upper rooms were newly renovated, and the bathrooms were completely modernized. We had our bathroom in the room and there was shampoo for showering; towels were also provided. The lower level had a new kitchen set up where you could cook for yourself. A fridge‑freezer combo was on the hallway where everyone could put things in. There was a small garden where you could grill or simply enjoy a nice breakfast. The beds were new, as were the mattresses, pillows, and duvets. The entrance area was very tidy and clean. As I mentioned, I arrived during the transition from Tau Design Hotel to Base Hotel. For a short stay it’s perfectly adequate. My brother and I stayed there for 5 days and we really liked it. I would definitely book again. The only downside was that there were no towel holders, but I mentioned that. Otherwise everything was perfect.
As expected, the hotel is in an industrial area, but you’re less than 10 minutes by car into the center of Erlangen. Check‑in was smooth. The bathroom was located over the hotel hallway in a separate room that couldn’t be locked. The trash from the previous guest was still in the bins and was never emptied during my entire stay. If the trash wasn’t even taken out, I wondered whether the bed linen was fresh… The bathroom was dirty and the actual room was only vacuumed, not cleaned. When showering, the water didn’t drain and I flooded not only the whole room but the hallway as well. To protect other guests from slipping, I used a towel in the hallway to mop and left it there. I found that towel hanging in my bathroom that evening. I deserved at least a fresh towel. After check‑in I didn’t see any staff, otherwise I would have complained on site. The communal kitchen was also dirty and dirty dishes stayed in the sink for three days.
