The location is great and the staff are super friendly and attentive, but there are a lot of people talking loudly in the middle of the night.

The atmosphere is calm, but the bed was uncomfortable, the facilities were poor, and when it rained the kitchen and other parts of the lodge flooded.

I always stay at Mística when I go to São Thomé—rating 1000, I love this place ❤️. The only downside was having to leave again, haha.

I had a solid few days there – most of my time was spent out and about, so the wooden house creaking didn’t bother me much, just mind the hour. The kitchen could use a quick wipe‑down in the fridge and trash area, but that’s something guests can help with too. The spot is right in the city, so you can walk everywhere, though stumbling back home after a few cachaças can feel a bit lonely if you’re solo. All in all, great value, amazing town, and I’ll be back for the mountains.
