There was plenty of parking. The booking confirmation said the restaurant was open every weekday night, which mattered to me after a long day of travel, but on arrival I was told the restaurant doesn’t serve on Tuesdays. The carpet in the room was stained, and the shower is suitable only for people under 6' tall; otherwise you have to bend to get under the shower head.

The breakfast was very good, but the TV in the room was poor; we used our own devices and the Wi‑Fi was sufficient. Evening service was excellent. However, the breakfast staff seemed overwhelmed because a shooting party was in the hotel and she hadn’t been informed, which caused delays and made us late for a short family visit.

This charming hotel is welcoming and full of character, giving a truly authentic English experience. The rooms are beautiful, spacious, and very comfortable. Downstairs there’s a wonderful pub and restaurant, and the risotto there is the best I’ve ever had. The hosts were friendly, and we highly recommend this lovely place.
