The staff handed us a fan after we mentioned the air‑con. The room quality didn’t match what was shown on the site. I chose it for the pool (which was really dirty) and the air‑con (which didn’t work half the time).

Nestled in Sauraha’s lush hills, Tharu Lodge offers air‑conditioned rooms with private terraces overlooking verdant gardens. The on‑site restaurant serves authentic Nepali dishes, including vegetarian, vegan, and dairy‑free options, complemented by a bar and outdoor seating. A year‑round pool, terrace, picnic area, bicycle parking, and free private parking enhance the stay. Nearby, Bharatpur Airport lies 17 km away, and a shuttle service, express check‑in/out, and tour desk facilitate local exploration.

The hotel is lovely, in a great location just a 5‑minute walk to the main street. Wi‑Fi and AC worked well, the staff were friendly, and they offer laundry service at a good price.

The staff were very nice, helpful, and friendly. It was great to have a pool with a place inside the pool to sit and read. The garden was beautiful with lots of birds, butterflies, and bats at night. The room was large and comfortable with A/C and hot water. Although it was a 15‑minute walk to the riverside, there are many restaurants and shops nearby, and it’s located by fields so it feels a bit rural. The bathroom was a bit old and rundown, had no shelving or storage, and a lot of mosquitoes managed to get into the room despite flyscreens on the windows.

The girl was very kind and helpful in arranging our day. Highly recommended.

The staff were friendly, and the garden with a litchi tree was lovely. The pool was nice, though a bit warm, and the room was spacious. They arranged a reasonably priced safari for the next day, including walking, a boat ride, and a jeep tour. The lodge felt private. However, the staff weren’t always ready to answer questions, especially about food, so meals weren’t available. The room was just fine.
