JUFA Hotel Grundlsee is nestled against the Totes Gebirge mountains, on the shores of picturesque Grundlsee lake in Styrian Salzkammergut. The hotel features a private beach, sauna, children's playground with Indian tepee, and sun terrace. Rooms have a bathroom and cable TV, with free Wi-Fi in public areas. Bicycles, skis, snowshoes, and canoes are rentable, with a nearby rock-climbing centre.

The breakfast was decent, but nothing else stood out. We had booked JUFA at Grundlsee, yet our confirmed reservation was missing from the JUFA system, so we were shifted to the nearby JUFA Bad Aussee. Instead of a calm lake view, rowdy drunk patrons kept us up until 3 a.m. The room, meant for two, offered only one chair. The bathroom extractor fan worked intermittently, the safe was broken, mattresses sagged and bed bases creaked, waking your partner with every small movement. There was no fridge, and the shower fittings were awkwardly placed, causing frequent accidental water shut‑offs. The only thing up to standard was the breakfast, earning a single point. The rest of our stay at JUFA earned no points, and even the receptionist was neither attentive nor friendly. My email complaint remains unanswered.
