10 Hastings Street Motel

“Great for a quick few days escape to Noosa.”

The location is absolutely fabulous, with a very funky vibe, and the owners are truly friendly and delightful. It’s great for a couple or a short stay because it’s so convenient. The bed was huge and comfy (though it took up a lot of the room). Free coffee from the downstairs café was nice, and you don’t need a car once you’re there. The room itself was small—though that isn’t a problem—but the bed was quite large for the room’s size and storage was limited. The bathroom was “European sized,” tiny! I wouldn’t recommend it for kids or families.

The place sits right on Hastings Street, a short stroll to the beach, and the café downstairs, Hastings Ten, serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Restaurants and shops are within easy walking distance, and the room was very clean. Still, our experience at Hastings House felt underwhelming and not worth the price. There was no front desk or on‑site staff; all communication went through text or phone, making the stay feel impersonal. The biggest annoyance was the noise from the family upstairs—loud footsteps, children jumping, and furniture being moved. We texted Gemma, who responded quickly and the noise dropped for a few minutes, but the problem persisted throughout our stay. The 10 am checkout felt too early, especially compared to other places where 11 am is standard. Even though Gemma’s reply was prompt, the ongoing noise and early checkout left the stay feeling overpriced and not very relaxing.

I was thrilled with the spot—everything from shops to the beach is right outside. The recent renovations feel fresh and modern, and the front café and restaurant were spot‑on, with staff that were all friendly.
