The diving base was great, but the rooms were already quite old, and the Matahari itself was small; the Guesthouse felt more familiar.

The first room had terrible highway noise; they moved us to a small room with separate beds that had a bad sewage smell in the bathroom and the bath door wouldn’t stay closed. Those two nights were too much. They had a cancellation, so they switched us to another small room with a single bed, and there were no problems. The location is good for Tulamben shore diving, though the rocky shore is tricky. The staff is very helpful. The place needs some fixing up.

The dive school is good, the staff are very friendly, the restaurant is good, and the view during the meal is fantastic. Nothing negative.

At first, the two rooms we were given were on the other side of the road and were disappointing: noisy, dark, and decor was very average. I immediately reported the issue to reception, who reassigned us to two other rooms that were much more pleasant. The dive club operates with the hotel, which is very convenient.

The spot for diving in Tulamben is decent, and the staff are super friendly. The sea view from the restaurant is nice. The first room was awful with road noise, so they moved us to the second room. It was quieter but had twin beds instead of one large bed, a sewer smell in the bathroom, a bath door that wouldn’t stay closed letting the smell in, and no hot water in the shower. The room was much smaller than the first one but the price stayed the same. After two nights they switched us to a room with one large bed and a hot shower. The facilities are old and need some work but overall they're okay. The staff were very helpful except for one mistake: they thought they had found our booking for the 28th at Matahari GH in Kuta, but Kuta had no booking; it turned out to be another place with the same name on a different island.
