I arrived around 22:30, and the owner’s agent sent me detailed messages with photos of the bed and other info, which made me feel very reassured. When I left, I was greeted with a pleasant smile, a handshake, and a friendly “Nice to meet you. Welcome to Ho Chi Minh!” from the owner, which lifted my spirits. I’m not sure if it was my room or a mistake on my part, but the room key didn’t lock properly and the shower’s water heater seemed broken or I didn’t know how to use it, so I couldn’t get hot water. Because of my late arrival and not wanting to bother the other guests or the caretaker, I left it as it was, although I think I would have learned how to use it if I had asked.
