Perched 180 m above Tegernsee Lake, Der Westerhof Hotel offers panoramic lake and mountain views, a garden, and rooms with private balconies or terraces. Interiors feature natural‑wood décor, satellite TV, and en‑suite bathrooms with hairdryers. Guests enjoy a terrace breakfast buffet, pre‑ordered Bavarian snack platters, drinks, trail access, ski slopes, parking, and a 5‑minute drive to the lake and train station.

The position overlooking the lake is outstanding, rooms are okay, parking spaces are excellent, and the staff are very friendly and nice, also excellent. In the end, the price was high for the service and the hotel in general. The building is historical but a bit old; I was expecting a bit more. Sauna and Spa were opened only as of 15:00, that is not the best for a hotel. Breakfast was just "ok".

The location is simply a dream; the view over the lake always amazes me. You feel very comfortable right away. Breakfast is regional and plentiful. The coffee machine can be used all day, which is very pleasant. In the afternoon, cake is still available. There is nothing to complain about.

The pictures online did not match the actual room. Even though we had called beforehand and thought everything was sorted, it was a shame because the stay was a gift. If we had seen the pictures of the room we received, we would never have booked it at that price.

The breakfast buffet is very versatile and leaves no wish unfulfilled. The location is very nice, high above Tegernsee, a wonderful setting with a beautiful view.
