“Very kind people. Lovely dog.”
Writing this review is tough because I was suffering from a severe migraine on the day I checked out, and the owners were incredibly kind and caring, letting us stay until our taxi was due at 3 pm and checking on me even after we left. The room at the main hotel was lovely, very comfortable, clean, and in a great location. However, when we first arrived, the room we had booked wasn’t available; they said the air‑con was broken, but I think they were over‑booked. We were moved into a new hostel, which had a shared lounge with an amazing Nile view, but the glass doors and windows made it feel like a sauna; the balcony was nice. The bedroom was small with a hard bed, and the bathroom was so tiny that the shower was literally over the toilet—sometimes it was easier to sit on the toilet to shower! We were compensated with free breakfast and free dinner, so it all worked out in the end. The room price was so cheap anyway, and we were happy with the situation. I didn’t like being bumped from the main hotel, and if you read the reviews, you’ll see that people sometimes have the same experience and get moved to a different property.
