The location was great, the staff were friendly, and the hostel was spotlessly clean, but there was no top sheet, only a bed cover, the sliding door had no latch or lock, and the bright white paint in the room would have been more welcoming – the dark grey felt a little depressing, though the price was very good.

The facilities were nothing like the photos, the room doors didn’t close, and they gave us a locker.

The location was fabulous, the owners were really friendly and helpful, but our room door didn’t lock from the outside so we had to lock our belongings in a padlock cage, which was secure but we weren’t aware of this upon arrival; the shared toilets were infested with ants, we couldn’t get the shower to work, the window in the common area stayed open all the time bringing in bugs and lizards, and the bed was very uncomfortable, leaving us with sore backs each morning.

The staff were pretty helpful and sweet, everything was clean, there were other services like bike rental which was convenient, it was close to Thalang Road and major attractions in Phuket Old Town, and near a bus terminal for public transport, plus many 7/11s nearby; however, the AC wasn’t working very well – even at 18°C it barely cooled, all three of us hostelmates felt hot while sleeping, the tap water flow was very slow, and the mattress was very hard (though that might be a preference), but overall it was very good.

The spot is right in the heart of Phuket old town, and the host with his family were really friendly. The place was spotless and comfy, giving good value for the price. The only downside was that the dorm room got very hot at night even with the curtains shut.
