Villa Yburg

The place sits in a quiet, modern suburb of Amsterdam, and the tram 26 takes you to the city centre in just 20 minutes. From the tram stop you walk five minutes to Villa Yburg. The hosts are friendly and speak a little French. My room was comfortable, the bedding perfect, and the huge bathroom had both a shower and a bathtub. The room décor was simple, nothing flashy, but I liked the coffee machine that came with a good selection of capsules. The downside is that the bathroom isn’t directly linked to the bedroom; you have to pass through the shared hallway that the hosts use, so if you step out of the shower in a small outfit and they just arrive, it can feel awkward. The terrace could use a quick clean‑up, even though it isn’t meant for regular use.

“So very nice - highly recommended”

The accommodation was very nice, clean, and well‑equipped. The hosts were welcoming and super helpful, even offering free coffee from a nearby bakery/café. The area is calm, safe, and beautiful, with plenty of pleasant cafés and restaurants. I really enjoyed my stay here and would absolutely recommend it.

“We enjoyed our stay but felt the inadequate separation from the living accommodation detracted from the experience.”

The hosts were friendly and helpful, even arranging a discounted taxi fare back to the airport. The accommodation and bathroom were clean, though the bathroom isn’t en‑suite. I had to share the entrance with the hosts. There was no kitchen or roof terrace, and the courtyard was not really accessible; it would have intruded on the hosts’ private space if you tried to use it.
