We were alone, no other guests, and the whole house was ours. The host came in the evening to check on us, responded to every request, and brought a mop‑scraper and dishes. However, there was no kettle, hair dryer, or iron, though the bath water was warm and there was a clothes‑drying rope. The house sits on a busy road, so at night the traffic noise was loud, but we closed the window and it became quiet. Fans were in the rooms and common area. Sleeping was comfortable on a good orthopedic mattress, the linens were clean, and there were no insects in the room. Mosquitoes came out at night, but only a few. A shop was nearby, a road across the street led to the beach, and you could swim near the stone beds. The bus station was a 15‑minute walk away, where there’s a cool Chinese café that’s tasty and cheap, plus a big supermarket. The only downside was that there was no way to pour water and drink tea.
