The location is fabulous and the styling and view from the room were great. I stayed for three nights, but the first night had no heating. I requested an iron twice and never received one; the room wasn’t cleaned on one day, and the bed linen was not ironed and had been tumble‑dried to death, resulting in a bobbled feel that was very uncomfortable.

The staff were great, especially Lee, the hotel itself is nice and clean, and the bar area is very cosy. If you want to walk you have to leave the hotel because there are no footpaths, and the rooms were noisy from other guests walking around. The food is average for the price—nothing special, but my burger and frozen chips were fine.

The location off the M6 is great, the hotel is very clean and nicely furnished, and dogs are very welcome. A minor detail: it wasn’t clear that I had to book a dog‑friendly room and that there’s an extra charge for her—luckily they had a dog‑friendly room left, and I had only seen “dog friendly hotel” listings.
